TWO late goals against the run of play gave Sherrardswood & Birchwood Rangers Reds Under-11s a 4-1 away win against Wheathampstead Sharks.

It was Wheathampstead who struck first with a quick break beating the offside trap and putting them one up after five minutes.

Rangers were awarded a free-kick just inside Sharks' half on 13 minutes.

Mitchell Warren fired in a lofted shot that was parried by the keeper, but Danny Sitton was quick to follow up and equalise for Rangers.

Breaking from deep, quick passing saw Toby Coleman and Neil Crafer linking to put Matthew Morris in behind the defence.

Morris' calm chip over the keeper made it two for Rangers on the half-time whistle.

With the change of wind, Sharks began to circle looking for a reply, pinning Rangers in their own half.

The Sherrardswood defence was challenged time after time but formed an impenetrable barrier, only seeing the keeper's assistance required a handful of times.

In the closing minutes consecutive corners saw Dolan and then Sitton score to kill the game off.

Rangers' man-of-the-match was Matthew Morris.
