CODICOTE manager Dan Kennoy has warned his players to up their game after losing 5-0 to title chasers Hatfield Town.

Kennoy's troops held Town at bay for more than half an hour but then buckled.

He said: "For the first 35 minutes we matched Hatfield in every department.

"We then seemed to hit the self-destruct button with 10 minutes of the half left."

Hatfield scored twice before the break and added three more after the interval.

"Town are second in the league for a reason," said Kennoy. "They've got a great mix of experience and youth, as well as that will to win football matches, which is something we only show in patches during 90 minutes."

Looking ahead to his club's next fixture, the Codicote boss said: "We have a big game away to Evergreen on Saturday, and if we are to get anything from that we need a performance that betters this performance by a long, long way.
