POTTERS Bar returned to losing ways on Saturday as they went down 2-1 at Maldon Town and dropped into the league's bottom four.

Bar won their first game in four attempts the match prior to this versus Ware, but it was another loss for the Scholars at the weekend.

Steve Browne's side have slipped down the Division One North table having lost four of their last five matches.

The visitors were unlucky to go behind when a sliced shot from Maldon's Rob Edmonds took a deflection before finding the back of the net in the first half.

Potters Bar got back on level terms around 15 minutes after the interval.

Defender Billy Crowther scored his second goal in two games for the Herts club when he headed in a corner from the left.

Unable to hold on for any points, the Scholars conceded what proved to be the winner eight minutes later.

Home striker Steve Wareham headed in a James Robinson centre.

Saturday sees a massive game for the Parkfield club when they entertain fellow strugglers Tilbury in a game they really need to win if they are to pull themselves clear of the drop zone.
