Archant

Three goals in the final 17 minutes saw Potters Bar Town lose away to fellow play-off chasers Bowers & Pitsea in the Bostik League Division One North.

The Scholars had twice taken the lead, the second from debutant Bradley Sach, signed on loan from Boreham Wood, on 71 minutes.

But then a penalty conceded for handball was converted by David Knight and James Thomas hit a screamer six minutes later to put the Essex side ahead.

Knight volleyed in a fourth three minutes from time to complete the scoring.

Michael Murray had given Bar the lead after 17 minutes, bending the ball beyond the keeper following a Sach pass.

And it was a lead they held until 20 minutes into the second half when Ben Sartain equalised.

Sach put Bar back in front though after a ball from Will Wambeek but then the self-destruct button was pressed.

The Scholars are eighth with Brentwood Town away in the league on Tuesday.
