NEW Potters Bar Town signing Shayne Mangodza netted a late leveller to rescue a 1-1 draw for his team at Thamesmead Town on Wednesday.

The point, the Scholars' first of the season, was well deserved as they played their part in a tricky away fixture.

Steve Browne's side can take a number of positives from the game.

Keeper Ashlee Jones returned to first team action, centre-half Theo Daniels did well, as did new boy Mangodza.

Bar looked set for their second defeat in two matches when they conceded with seven minutes left.

Pedro Knight scored for the hosts but his side could not hold onto their lead.

In the dying minutes an Alex Bolt corner for Bar caused havoc in the Mead area.

The ball fell to Mangodza to score the Scholars' first Ryman League goal of the season and grab them the point.

Saturday sees Potters Bar Town play Redbridge away before they entertain Cheshunt at Parkfield on Bank Holiday Monday.
