Welwyn Pirates beat Bradmore Rovers 3-1 in the WHSFL Premier Division League Cup final at the weekend.

A level first 20 minutes saw both sides creating chances, but stubborn defending saw the game remain goalless.

Bradmore opened the scoring through Mark Freestone and they appeared to be getting the upper hand until Leigh Nymm grabbed the equaliser for the Pirates. Both sides had chances late on in the half, but it finished 1-1 at the break.

The second half started with both sides struggling to cope with the blustery conditions; the ball spent more time off the pitch than on it.

Midway through the half Welwyn Pirates took the lead through Dan Worsley.

With time running out both sides made changes and had chances before Worsley wrapped the game up for Pirates with his second of the game.
