STRIKER George Ansell hit a hat-trick as Welwyn Pegasus Under-9 Sky's finished their season with a 4-1 win away at Ware Youth Blues.

Skys dominated the game from the start with the day's captain, Liam Hill, making powerful runs from the left.

The nimble Sam Benwell on the right did well supporting man of the match Ansell up front.

It was not long before Ansell scored his first goal with a low shot under the keeper.

This was closely followed by his second, which came after he rounded two Ware players before slotting home in the corner of the goal.

The hosts were restricted by some solid defending.

Their only real chance in the first half came as a mistimed bounce caught out the Pegasus back three of Harry Dalby, Daniel Griffin and Bradley Webb.

Reliable goalkeeper Toby Symes was left with no chance as the Ware side pulled a goal back.

Pegasus carried on their dominance in the second half with Frankie Lees now on the left, Ben Trowbridge in midfield and Cameron Allen up front.

After peppering the Ware goal, it was not until late on when Ansell came back on to complete his hat-trick, did the Welwyn team score their third.

To finish off the scoring, Liam Hill hit an unstoppable shot from outside the area in the last few minutes as the Pegasus boys ran out 4-1 winners.
