Hatfield Town have named Kevin Pearman as the man to replace the outgoing Ashley Purser as first team manager.

Pearman is a former Hatfield Town assistant manager who has been in charge of HSCL Premier Division side Hatfield Social.

Town chairman Chris Maloney said: “I contacted him last week and I said ‘I want you to come and take the team in the Spartan League next season’.

“I want to get our identity back and we want to be a Hatfield team again.

“Kev is Hatfield through and through and knows this club well; he’s the right man for the job.”

One of Pearman’s final acts as Social boss was to guide his side to victory in the Aubrey Cup final.

His predecessor, Purser, left the position after being unable to fully commit to the role; Town finished fourth in the SSML Division One last season.
