Arsenal full-back Alex Scott played 83 minutes of England’s record-breaking 3-0 loss to world champions Germany.

In the first standalone women’s match to ever take place at Wembley, Scott, who lives in Panshanger, unfortunately nodded in a sixth-minute own goal from a corner to set the Germans on their way to a comfortable victory.

A crowd of 45,619 were present although 10,000 more spectators had to abandon plans to attend due to public transport problems.

Scott has over 100 Three Lions’ caps, scoring six goals and has represented England at two FIFA World Cups, three UEFA European Championships and played for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
