PANSHANGER Yellows Under-9s consolidated their fourth spot in the league by beating sixth-placed Potters Bar United 1-0 on a blustery Saturday morning.

Despite their greater possession and territorial advantage, the Welwyn side struggled to break down a stubborn Potters Bar defence.

The attacking trio of Joshua Aylott, Charlie Evans and Kieran Butler still worked tirelessly and caused the away side to make several last-ditch clearances.

The second half saw a continuation of the one-way traffic, with Panshanger's workrate allowing their technical ability to shine through in the final 10 minutes as Potters Bar tired.

The breakthrough eventually came after good work by Eddy Webb on the right.

He cut inside and looped a shot over the Potters Bar keeper into the net.
