TWO goals in the first 10 minutes weren't enough for Panshanger Yellows Under-9s to secure the points against Bury Rangers Spitfires in their first match of 2008.

The Welwyn side started the match with some fine attacking football and went two up thanks to Jay Reed and Eddy Webb.

However, three Bury Rangers goals just before the break put the match back in the balance.

Shortly after the restart, a midfield battle for possession resulted in Bury piercing the Panshanger defence again to score a fourth when on another occasion a free-kick might have been awarded in favour of the Welwyn side.

A fifth goal effectively put the game out of Yellows' reach, despite Panshanger dominating the closing 15 minutes.
