WELWYN Garden City slipped to their first league defeat since December 20 away at Biggleswade Town on Saturday.

A goal from former Hertford Town striker Ryan Redford after only three minutes was enough to see off Del Deanus' battling Citizens side.

Despite dominating possession, City couldn't find a way past the home custodian leaving Deanus to experience only his second league defeat since taking over at Herns Lane.

Town are the talked-about team at the moment, after reaching the quarter finals of the FA Vase along with fellow South Midlands Premier Division side Chalfont St Peter.

WGC face another tough test on Saturday when they host fourth-placed Kingsbury London Tigers at Herns Lane, kick-off 3pm.
