Welwyn Garden City FC secured a point in last night’s (Wednesday) Spartan South Midlands Division One encounter away at Kentish Town.

The draw ended a run of three defeats on the bounce - two in the league and one in the FA Vase, and will provide a little more comfort for Citizens boss Simon Braine.

Leigh Nymm had put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, but Kentish hit back 12 minutes later when Jose Da Cruz got on the scoresheet to equalise.

The only thing that stopped WGC going on to win the game was the form of the home side’s keeper, who made a series of good saves.

The Citizens will now turn their attention to Saturday’s home clash against Buckingham Athletic where they will be looking to register a much-needed victory.

That encounter is one of four consecutive league games City will play at home - offering a perfect opportunity for the Herns Lane outfit to get some more points on the board and progress up the league standings.
