There were pre-season victories for Ultimate Football new boys Sons of Pitches and Slumdog Mignolet this week.

Hassan Zaman’s brace handed Sons a 2-1 victory against Exeter while Slumdog began their season preparations in more impressive fashion, thrashing Colonel Getafe 8-0. Jack Hague was the pick of the bunch for the victors, notching a hat-trick.

That was Getafe’s second defeat of the evening, having gone down 5-2 to Blackpool. Will Clarke had put Getafe ahead but five unanswered efforts from Nicky Loft (two), Andrew and Steve Charles and David Willis gave the orange-clad side a 5-1 advantage.

Dom Gray slightly reduced the arrears but it was too little too late for Getafe.

Fellow newcomers IDC FC were given a lesson by Easter Cup winners Hedgehog FC, losing 3-0, and Foot Soldiers smashed Groovy Gang 9-3, with Marc Winnan and Tom Gajjer both bagging trebles.
