Game off scrawled in the mud

THE wet and miserable weather again washed out a number of weekend football matches.

Codicote's Premier Division meeting with Herts Senior County League leaders Metropolitan Police Bushey fell victim to the rain on Saturday, as did Lemsford's Division One clash with Buckhurst Hill.

Welwyn Playing Fields was still waterlogged on Sunday, causing the Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League Division Three Cup Final between Hatfield Sports and Bradmore Rovers Reserves to be switched to King George V.

Although a decent crowd still watched the game, the cup final atmosphere was lost somewhat with other matches going on at the same venue.
