HATFIELD Town manager Trevor Lloyd was among the scorers as Dads Army continued their push for promotion last Wednesday night.

The Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League Division Three newcomers thrashed Attimore Embers 8-1 with Lloyd netting twice.

Lloyd opened the scoring for the Army after five minutes with a well-placed shot.

Chris Cross added a second on the half hour and a Glen Mair volley made it three before the break.

The second half saw the Army play some good football, with Lloyd winning everything in midfield and the front pairing of Dodd and Clarke causing problems.

With such supremacy, it was always going to be a case of how many they scored.

The pick of the second-half goals was a Scott Smith curler from 25 yards.

Trevor Lloyd added his second with a well-taken finish, while Jayson Clarke added another two to his tally for the season.

Cross also scored with a superb lob to leave the Army one win away from promotion.

And that's what they achieved on Sunday by beating Division Three rivals Hedgehog 4-0.
