LEMSFORD Youth Under-12s claimed a 2-1 away win at Broxbourne Rangers Tigers in the MHRM League First Division.

The Lemsford side took on Tigers on a bleak afternoon that started with driving snow.

Lemsford put in an organised display which was rewarded with a goal after 12 minutes.

A through ball from man-of-the-match Robert Flowerday had the Tigers' keeper scurrying out.

However, Laurie Burton was on hand for Lemsford to coolly chip the ball over into the net.

The remainder of the half saw more chances that Lemsford could not convert and the referee also ruled out a good penalty shout.

Connor Tokely broke clear for Tigers on 30 minutes and found the net with a well struck shot.

Lemsford made steady progress against a bitterly cold wind in the second half.

They scored through striker James Harrison after a nicely flighted ball from Thomas Kirby.

Lemsford controlled the remainder of the game and Adam Williams came close with an effort that ran across goal.

On the strength of this result Lemsford leapfrogged Tigers into fifth place in the league table.
