Lemsford lads all smiles in derby day fun with Welwyn Pegasus

LEMSFORD Youth Under-7s hosted neighbours Welwyn Pegasus for a fun morning of friendly 5-a-side and 7-a-side fixtures at their base at Ottway Walk in Welwyn.

Lemsford absorbed some early pressure well in their first game with good covering displays from Ally Hunter and Sam Jones, backed up with a confident display in goal from Rahul Rajamurugan.

The team broke forward well with William Hughes winning the ball well in the middle, and Lucas Skelton providing good support on the right.

Jack Teoh scored with a calm finish in a crowded penalty area, and created good space for himself on the left with some clever tricks and turns. Ashley Perry caught the eye up front with a brace of well-taken goals and a confident performance in goal later on.

In the second game George Grubb did well for Lemsford at the back trying to play in his team-mates, Ben Cracknell made some key passes, and Freddie Walker went on some surging runs.

Morgan Hume made himself busy in the final third and was rewarded with a well-taken goal to break the deadlock, before Ben Crooks rounded things off with a mazy dribble and powerful angled drive in the closing stages.

Honours were shared at the final whistles, with Pegasus ahead in the 5-a-side games, and Lemsford victorious in the 7-a-sides.
