LEAGUE leaders Lemsford Youth Under-11s overwhelmed Bury Rangers 10-1 on Saturday.

Rangers went one down in the MHRML Division Two match after two minutes when a move down the left ended with a slick pass inside for Laurie Burton to stroke the ball into the net.

A stunned Rangers side fell further behind when Josh Turnbull tapped the ball over following a goalmouth scramble.

Bury held on until just before half-time when Ben Demont headed a cross down for James Harrison to knock in the third.

Lemsford continued to work for each other after the break.

An unselfish pull-back in the box gave Joe Wild the opportunity to score with a low drive five minutes after coming on.

Continued pressure in the Bury goalmouth resulted in an unfortunate own goal. Henry Porter then spotted a well-timed run by Sam Robson on halfway and delivered the perfect pass for him to score in a one-on-one with the keeper.

Harry Brenchley pulled one back for Rangers midway through the half. Regular hat-trick specialist Harrison added one more for Lemsford with his left, then another with his right.

Turnbull curled in a contender for goal of the month.

To complete Rangers' misery, Harrison scored another just before the end.

One of the few not to get on the scoresheet was defender Robert Flowerday, the man of the match.
