Striker Jason Caswell has broken the Welwyn Garden City FC record for the most goals scored in a single season.

The hot-shot forward has been in sensational form this term, his two goals in the Citizens 4-0 win over Wodson Park at Herns Lane last night (Wednesday) took his tally in all competitions to a stunning 43.

The previous record was 42 in a season set by Terry Hayes in the late 1980s.

WGC, who are in fourth place, are the leading scorers in the SSML Division One table.

Caswell has 38 league goals in 28 games, while his strike partner Joel Norris has 22 in 21.

With nine league games still to play it is more than likely Caswell will increase his record tally even further.

WGC travel to Buckingham Athletic on Saturday.
