A brace for leading scorer Josh Hutchinson helped Potters Bar Town recover from a goal down to beat Hanwell 2-1 on Easter Monday.

The result ended the Scholars’ four match winless run in the Southern League Division One Central.

Hanwell’s Billy Healey converted a third minute header from a Jack Hutchinson cross to give the visitors the lead before the new Bar central defensive partnership of ex-manager Jack Friend and Ben Bowditch had time to settle.

Bar were level just 10 minutes later as Josh Hutchinson took advantage of a fine run and cross from Joshua Oyinsan to put a deftly placed header past the stranded Hanwell keeper.

Despite chances at both ends, neither side managed to take advantage until the 74th minute.

Bar substitute Luke Jupp played a delightful ball through to Josh Hutchinson who was brought down for a penalty.

The in-form striker got up to dispatch the kick with ease.

Hanwell had their chances to level but with keeper Ben Goode again in great form and with the defence well marshalled by Bowditch and Friend the Scholars ran out deserved winners.
