STRIKER Dan Hedges hit a double hat-trick as Hatfield Sports returned to the top of Division Three with an 11-2 win over bottom side Bar 12 FC.

The scoring was opened by Sports when Sam Perrin crossed to Hedges, who took it round the defender before firing past the keeper.

He made it 2-0 after Toby Hooton picked up a poor goal kick and played him in.

Hooton was then pulled down in the box and took the penalty himself for 3-0.

Hedges then grabbed his hat-trick just before half-time after Graeme Cocker put in a perfect cross and he met it with a flying header just inside the box.

Shortly after the restart Perrin played a free-kick to Perry Smith, who beat two defenders before curling a shot round the keeper.

It was 6-0 after another poor goal kick was gathered by Hooton, who played a defence splitting pass and Hedges chipped the keeper.

Sports poured forward and struck a further goal when Dan Bisby hit a long ball from the back to Hedges, who did the rest.

Poor defending let Bar 12 grab one back but Mardle soon hit Sports' eighth.

It was 9-1 when Dean Evans netted and then a fine Mardle volley into the roof of the net made it 10-1.

Sports' scoring was finished by Hedges, who slotted his sixth goal of the match.

Bar 12 pulled one more back with virtually the last kick of the game to make it 11-2.
