Hatfield United secured their first ever win in some style – thumping Baldock Town Reserves 7-2 in Herts Senior County League Division One.

The club, formed in the summer as a merger of Hatfield Social and AFC Hatfield, were in scintillating form in front of their supporters at Birchwood Playing Fields.

Gary McGwynne had to stop Baldock taking an early lea but once United got going their north Herts visitors couldn’t cope.

Charlie Lloyd fired them ahead with a penalty and although Baldock levelled through Liam Tyler, Harvey Coleman headed home number two.

Daryl Hill jinked through for number three and James Upson hit the fourth.

Daril Nigwala pulled one back for Baldock from the spot but Ryan Pearman, Azaan Choudhry and Lloyd’s second wrapped up a comprehensive win.

There could have been more too as Lloyd and Coleman both hit the woodwork while Upson had a goal ruled offside.
