HATFIELD Town secured their first win of the SSML Premier Division season with an impressive 2-1 victory away at Leverstock Green.

Both sides have undergone wholesale changes for the 2012/13 season, with new managers in place and a unfamiliar-looking playing squad compared to previous seasons.

Yet it was Hatfield who looked the more cohesive as a unit, and they came away from Pancake Lane as worthy winners for an important three points.

Daryl Smith marked his return to first-team action with the opener, and although Leverstock hit back when Adam Hallissey netted, Taylor Sussex rose highest from a corner in the 62nd minute to seal the three points for Mike Hollister’s Blueboys outfit.
