Hatfield Town Reserves put in a much improved home performance but still failed to take any points as they lost 2-1 against Evergreen in Herts Senior Division One.

The Blueboys had lost 7-2 at Roe Hill to Buntingford Town three weeks prior but showed more mettle to take the third-placed visitors all the way.

Callum McCarroll gave Evergreen the lead just after the half-hour mark and soon into the second half, he had doubled the lead.

The game looked to be getting away from Hatfield but Craig Whichelow’s strike seven minutes from time renewed home interest but there was to be no equaliser.
