After a goalless first half, Daniel Staples broke the deadlock in the 65th minutes, and this was later added to by a returning Lewis Field in the 81st minute to round off a superb victory for Trevor Lloyd's side.

The win sees Town remain in fifth place in the league, but they have now openend up a seven-point gap ahead of sixth-placed Colney.

The Herns Lane-based side are on 48 points, the same total as the teams occupying fourth and third - Bedford Town Reserves and New Bradwell United respectively.
