Arsenal Ladies took on the Australian U18 side at the Herts Sports Village on the same day Arsenal captain and England’s all-time record goalscorer Kelly Smith announced her international retirement.

Welwyn Hatfield Times online photographer Danny Loo was there to catch some of the action on Tuesday. See a gallery of his pictures here.

Smith was on the bench for the low-key practice game, which saw the likes of England captain Casey Stoney and fellow internationals Alex Scott, Lianne Sanderson and Jordan Nobbs start.
