HATFIELD Town completed their pre-season programme with a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Cheshunt Reserves on Saturday.

Again playing with a mix of first teamers and trialists, plus a couple of reserve players, Town continued to show their strength in depth with a solid all-round team performance.

John McGrandles returned after injury and he performed with great skill and aggression.

Gary Coley was outstanding in defence and Martin Standen continued to show his versatility.

The young reserves of Matt Standen, Barry Chamberlain and Jack Evans did enough to show that they will be soon knocking on the door of first team selection.

Goals from a trial player and the impressive Louis Evans saw Hatfield lead 2-0 at the interval.

The second half was even more impressive with total control from the Town.

Goals from Barry Chamberlain, Matt Standen, a trialist and David Reade completed the rout.

Town take on Buckingham Athletic on Saturday in their Spartan South Midlands Division One opener.
