THE drive to Middlesex to face Denham United proved worthwhile for Hatfield Youth Under-11s.

The Hatfield girls produced a tremendous team effort to record their third win in row with a 2-0 result.

They got stuck in right from the start and Susannah Cann ran her heart out against girls twice the size of her.

Abbie Tarsey stopped everything that managed to get past her defence, which wasn't much, and kept a clean sheet.

Denham's forwards struggled to get past Beth Burgess and Alexis Clare, who both put in some fabulous tackles.

Libby Burgess also had a fine game after six weeks out through injury.

The deadlock was broken when Susannah Cann played a sweet pass through to Megan Rossington, who slotted it neatly into the goal.

Emily West's long throws also posed a threat all game.

It was from one such throw that Hatfield scored their second.

The ball flew over everyone's heads, appeared to be going in and Rossington just got a foot to it to make sure.
