Hatfield Social debutant Jason Beck hit a hat-trick as his side drew 3-3 at home with Evergreen in the HSCL Premier Division.

Beck, who has played for Hatfield Town, Royston and AFC Dunstable, was one of three new Social players with Kyle Young and keeper Ricky Dean also joining the club.

Evergreen took an early lead after sloppy Hatfield defending, but Beck soon stamped his superior skill on to the game.

After a mesmerising run from Levi Gunn, he delivered a pin-point cross for Beck to volley home at the far post.

Three minutes later Beck hit a tremendous left foot shot from outside the box to give Social the lead.

Approaching half-time the hosts conceded a needless free-kick which resulted in a goal for Evergreen to go in to the interval level.

The second half started with lively attacks from the trio of Young, Gunn and Cornell Otudeko resulting in what should have been goals.

Beck, a stalwart in defence, came up for a corner in the 60th minute taken by Dale Stewart he met it with such power that although Charlie Benning in the Evergreen Goal held it in his hands, it was judged to be over the line.

Ten minutes later however Social were denied three points when Ryan Ward slotted home for Evergreen.

Beck was made man of the match for his outstanding hat-trick and defensive qualities.
