WELWYN Garden City bounced back to winning ways at Leverstock Green yesterday (Saturday).

The Citizens responded to their Herts Senior Cup exit at Oxhey Jets on Wednesday night by beating Leverstock 2-0 in the Spartan South Midlands League.

Hotshot Stuart Blackburne scored both goals for the visitors as Del Deanus' men won a scrappy game on their travels.

Two goals in the opening three minutes of the second half were enough for City to take the SML Premier Division spoils at Pancake Lane.

It was Leverstock's first league defeat at home since August 23.
