The Citizens’ assistant-manager Craig Arnott continued his recovery from nearly six months out injured with a dislocated shoulder by turning out in this game.

He provided the winning goal and an assist for the opening goal.

The experience of Arnott, skipper Sav Caliskan and striker Yasir Rashid helped guide the otherwise youthful side, but it was new midfielder Jack Francis who gave the stand-out performance.

The opening City goal came on 28 minutes as Arnott rolled a defender and played an instant through ball to Rashid who slid his shot in past keeper Billy Skinner.

The lead lasted just six minutes as Lucas Wallis drove low beyond WGC keeper Marcus Bourne.

WGC opened the second-half with what proved to be the winner as Arnott headed in Owain Page’s cross.
