CODICOTE secured back-to-back 3-2 victories on Saturday with a win against Wormley Rovers in the Premier Division.
Having already suffered two defeats against Wormley this season, the village-based club picked up another valuable three points to jump two league places.
Having entertained the travelling support at Bury Lane last week with a 3-2 win against Buntingford, the home side were again equal in entertainment value.
Codicote manager Dan Kennoy was once more forced into changes from last weekend's squad.
Having only one player of his back four available, Kevin Campbell and Grant MacAree were recalled from the reserves and James Gurr came straight back into the side after being sidelined for two weeks through injury.
Ashley Daniels also returned to the squad and Sam Spencer was available after being released from Stevenage Borough's EFCO scheme.
After impressing last week, striker Errol Reyner kept his place in the starting line-up and manager Kennoy's faith in him was rewarded after just 10 minutes.
Reyner broke the deadlock when he managed to poke past the advancing keeper to add to his tally of three goals in three starts.
Although the Cod had taken an early lead, the performance on the pitch wasn't pretty.
With weather conditions spoiling any attempt to play football, Wormley spent most of the half attacking Codicote's goal.
The East Herts side forced an equaliser through skipper Welch.
With the weather advantage in the hands of the home side for the second half, the game was there to be won for Kennoy's men.
Reyner came close to adding to his tally and midfielder John Sneddon went wide with a long-range effort.
However, the hard-working Sneddon did manage to break up a Wormley attack and set Carl Smith off down the left.
He cut inside and shot low, giving Codicote the lead once again.
Rovers threw caution to the wind after going behind and forced the hosts' defence further and further back.
With the home side's defenders having to make tackles inside their own penalty area, it wasn't long before Pugh mistimed one and referee Pateman pointed to the spot.
Welch stepped up and coolly slotted past Dan Stephenson to score his second goal of the game.
With just over 15 minutes remaining the away side made a defensive change looking to secure a point after coming from behind twice.
However, Mark Anderson threaded a pass through to MacAree, who outsprinted his opposite number and rolled the ball beyond the keeper to give Codicote the lead with what proved to be the winner.
Codicote travel to Evergreen this coming Saturday.
It was wins all round for Codicote last weekend as the reserves recorded a 2-1 victory over local rivals Lemsford.
After going behind, goals from Liam Castle and Glen Jones secured the win.
