WGC kept only their third clean sheet in 25 league games this season on Saturday as they beat Oxhey Jets 5-0.

The only other times the Citizens have managed not to concede was in wins over bottom two London Colney and Holmer Green in November.

After watching his side storm into a 4-0 first-half lead, boss Howard Cowley said: "The key thing was to keep a clean sheet and to make sure we did not concede a goal.

"After we went four up by half-time they tried to get back into the game but we defended well."

Cowley was pleased to have been able to call upon stalwart City defender Richard Teixeira on Saturday.

The solid centre half has missed much of the season due to work commitments.

Cowley said: "He was a rock at the back. I have said there is a place for Richard and Dan Teixeira if they are available."

City face Biggleswade Town away on Saturday.
