EUROPEAN football freestyle champion John Farnworth will be in Hatfield next week to launch a new Brazilian Soccer School.

Farnworth, who has performed all over the globe and on TV shows including Blue Peter, will be showing off his silky soccer skills to young footballers on Tuesday at the Finesse Leisure sports centre in Travellers Lane.

The new soccer school aims to develop young footballers by focusing on technique and skill.

Players from Pele to Kaka used similar training methods, which helped them glide so effortlessly with the ball, and the school uses the fast-paced Futebol de Salão game.

Sessions will be open to boys and girls and will take place every Tuesday, five to seven-year-olds at 5-6pm, and eight to 11-year-olds from 6-7pm. Children will be able to sign up to a whole programme of courses starting on January 15.

Head coach Andrew Anastasiou said: "We want to provide the tools for players to be creative and express themselves and then in the future we will be talking about how much more talented some of our players have become."
