Welwyn Garden City Ladies U14 continued their good form with a dominant 2-0 home win against Bengeo Tigers on Saturday.
This was WGC’s fourth win in five games since the beginning of January.
From the start they took the game to Bengeo.
The pressure told as from a Bengeo throw in, Emma Judd won the ball and drove into the the penalty box and coolly stroked the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0.
The first half continued the same way with a number of chances falling to WGC, but they could not add to their goals before half-time.
At the start of the second half Bengeo changed their keeper to try and get a foot hold in the game by putting four into midfield.
However, within 10 minutes of the restart Katie Deeprose pounced on a poor pass, skipped pass one player and shot past the keeper to make it 2-0 with her third goal in two games.
WGC peppered the Bengeo goal in the second half, but settled for the 2-0 win.
The team move up to 11-a-side football next year, email manager email@example.com if you are interested in joining.
