Archant

Former University of Hertfordshire student Jordan Nobbs lashed a sensational opener as Arsenal Ladies beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the final game of her pre-season tour of Spain.

Another former Hatfield student, Danielle Carter, also started and finished the friendly in Seville.

The Gunners shot out of the blocks and took the lead in the sixth minute courtesy of Nobbs’ stunner as she took aim and arrowed a 30-yard effort into the top corner.

The lead was almost lost on the brink of half-time but Bayern Munich captain Melanie Behringer’s 20-yard free-kick was well saved by Sari Van Veneendal.

Five minutes into the second period, the Germans were level though when Sara Dabritz tapped the ball past substitute keeper Emma Byrne.

On the hour mark, Arsenal were back in front.

Carter found substitute Natalia Pablos Sanchon who hammered home the back of the net with ease.

With just over 10 minutes to go, Pablos Sanchon doubled her taller when her chip from the edge of the box ricocheted off the crossbar and in.
