Crawley Green's keeper thwarts this WGC attack

A FIRST half goal from Crawley Green’s Luke Lincoln sent Welwyn Garden City down to a 1-0 Spartan South Midlands League Division One defeat on Saturday.

City never really found their feet at Herns Lane at the weekend

The only goal of the game came as a high ball into the WGC half was allowed to bounce past the defence, Lincoln beat keeper Tom Coulten to it and toe-poked the ball into the back of the net 10 minutes before the break.

The Citizens had a golden chance to rescue a point 15 minutes from the end.

Striker Ade Osobu broke through the defence managed to round the keeper, but blasted over with the goal gaping and defenders struggling to get back on the goal-line to cover.

WGC are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) as they travel to Cockfosters in the SSML Division One Cup.
