First three points of season for Welwyn Garden City

PUBLISHED: 16:35 21 August 2012

SECOND half goals from Scott Brunton and Martin Stickland on Saturday handed Welwyn Garden City their first SSML Division One win of the season.

The three points came from their 2-0 triumph away at Bedford.

City now have a complete set of results after drawing one and losing one of their first three league matches.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes City struck first blood soon after the re-start through Brunton, it was also WGC’s first goal of the league season.

And the points were sealed with 15 minutes left on the clock by Stickland.

City boss Scott O’Donoghue said: “The first half we were poor, but after a rocket at half-time and formation change we improved.

“We did well in the second half so I was happy.”
