Newly promoted FC Lemsford ran out 3-0 winners as they took on rivals Lemsford FC in Herts Senior League Division One on Saturday.

FC Lemsford made the early running, but Lemsford FC fought their way back into the game, hitting the bar from a poorly cleared corner after 25 minutes.

The second half started in a similar vein and FC Lemsford defender Sam Robson was judged to have fouled when challenging in the box, to the surprise of all on-lookers.

The spot-kick went high and wide and served as a wake-up call to FC.

They increased the pressure and Sameer Abdelhamid made telling contributions with a goal 15 minutes into the half followed by an assist.

He put a diagonal ball into the box for Joe Carter to convert for goal number two.

Lemsford FC’s misery was complete in the last minute when FC’s Niall Coates was brought down in the box.

Grant Turville put away the spot kick with assurance to finish it 3-0.
