HATFIELD Town are gearing up for the FA Cup this weekend as they get set to meet Enfield 1893 at the Gosling Stadium in the Preliminary Round on Saturday.

And it will offer joint-managers Darryn Stewart and Kevin Pearman the perfect chance to put Tuesday night’s South Midlands Premier Division defeat away at Berkhamsted to the back of their minds.

One bonus for the bosses could be the return to the side of talented middle-man and captain Terry Caswell, and Sam Perrin and Grant Macaree should also be in contention.

The winners of Saturday’s game, 3pm kick-off, will face Barton Rovers or Witham Town in the First Round Qualifying.

Enfield 1893 have had a solid start to the new Essex Senior League Premier Division season, winning three and drawing one of their opening four games to sit in third spot in the table.

Interestingly, they have not yet conceded a goal in the league this season.

They are the defending league champions - but were denied promotion due to a ground issue.
