FA Cup exit for Potters Bar Town

POTTERS Bar Town crashed out of the FA Cup earlier today (Saturday) going down 3-1 at home to Broxbourne Borough, managed by former Scholars assistant boss Ashley Fisk.
The Preliminary Round game hinged on a moment of madness by Bar skipper Ashley Harrison-Barker in the 53th minute.
With the game tightly poised at 1-1, after Dean Williams put Boro ahead and James Gershfield levelled in the first half, the captain played a loose ball across his own box straight to Williams.
The forward was felled by Bar stopper Matt Bennett who was sent-off and conceded a penalty which Williams slotted past replacement keeper Marlon Beresford.
A third was headed home by former Scholar Leon Skinner four minutes later to seal the tie and hand the bragging rights to Fisk and Broxbourne who fielded six ex-Bar players in their starting line-up.
