WINGER Pete Duffy and defender Ricky Bridge have joined Histon Reserves.

Codicote's plans for last weekend's fixture against Hertford Heath were disrupted when Bridge and Duffy informed manager Dan Kennoy that they had been offered the opportunity to move on to play for Histon Reserves in the Ridgeons Premier League.

"Obviously to lose players at this stage of the season is a bitter blow," said Kennoy.

"But these things happen in football, players come and go.

"Myself and the club would like to wish them luck and thank them both for their efforts this season."

The Cod boss promoted Sam Devoil and Ryan Solomon into the first team squad, as well as making a last-minute signing on Friday night.

John Vooght, the Herts Senior County League Premier Division's joint top scorer, transferred from Buntingford Town to boost Codicote's attacking options.

"John has a lot of quality in front of goal; he did train with us in pre-season.

"He opted at the time to sign for Buntingford, but I'm glad he's come to his senses now.

"Both Ryan and Sam have been involved with the first team already this season, so they know what we want from them and more importantly we know they have the ability to step up."

Kennoy added: "It's been a difficult few days losing two key players, but the way we see it is we've lost two players and brought in three good players.

"Time will tell whether we've improved the squad or not."

Vooght marked his debut with a first-half hat-trick in Codicote's 6-1 win at Hertford Heath.
