WGC FC's Joe Brunt scored twice on Saturday


WELWYN Garden City’s first team and reserves both claimed league victories over their Stony Stratford Town counterparts on Saturday.

The firsts secured a 3-2 away triumph with striker Joe Brunt bagging a brace and Ryan Solomon also netting in Buckinghamshire.

Oliver Garofalo and Nathan Mitchell hit the target for Town.

The triumph extended City’s unbeaten streak in the SSSML Division One to six games, they now sit ninth in the standings.

At Herns Lane, the Citizens’ second team enjoyed a 3-1 success over Stony Stratford’s reserves to move to the top of the SSML Reserve Division Two table.

Steff Saywell (two) and Dean Sadler scored the WGC goals.
