Last season’s Championship runners-up, Desert Shadow, kicked off the new Ultimate Football Premiership campaign with a 4-1 loss to My Dixie Wrecked on Monday night.

Recent signing Mason Bush gave Dixie the lead although Shadow’s Alex Brown scored a fantastic goal to level the scores before half-time.

Dixie moved through the gears in the second half and with two goals from man-of-the-match George Robinson and a second on the night from Bush, it was a comfortable win.

The Old Guard, without captain Neil Doctor, shared the points with Groovy Gang.

Marc Winnan smashed two quick-fire goals before Stephen Ross levelled with a brace.

Shortly after, Dan Winwood gave Gang the lead once more but again, man-of-the-match Ross pressed forward to secure Guard the draw.

Blackpool beat Championship winners Rag Rovers 2-1.

Stefan Saywell netted for Blackpool before Nathan Studholme’s equaliser.

David Willis’ second-half penalty decided a close encounter.

Meanwhile in the Championship, Tobie O’Dell’s Free Agents drew 2-2 with Asim Khan’s Sons of Pitches.

Julio Diaz put Agents in front within minutes but the lead was short-lived as on-form Chris Hood netted for Pitches. The second half was almost an exact replica of the first; Diaz netted once more for Agents, only for Hood to level once again for Pitches.

Luke Radley and Daniel Armstrong gave Welwyn 6’s a two goal lead initially in their match with Hedgehog FC.

Jamie Thomas pulled a goal back for Hedgehog FC but Radley netted his second of the night to restore Welwyn’s two goal cushion.

In the second half, Welwyn increased the pressure on their opponents and this resulted in goals from skipper Armstrong and an unfortunate Ben Whybrow own goal.

Jack Shelsher then netted making it 6-1 before Hedgehog vice-captain Stuart Madill regained some pride for his team with a superb strike.

Armstrong completed his hat-trick and although Hedgehog’s Jamie Thomas scored his second of the night shortly after, it was left to Radley to celebrate his second of the night and Welwyn 6’s emphatic 8-3 victory.

Elsewhere, Fast Loan UK picked up a straight-forward 3-0 victory.

Reigning Premiership champions Ivory Toast get their campaign underway next Monday as do Ashley Moss’s side Colonel Getafe.
