Hatfield Comets U12s finished the season on a high by winning the Divisional Cup with a 2-0 success over Paringdon Youth.

Played at The Hive, home of Barnet Football Club, the Comets came through what was a tough game much to the pride of all concerned.

It was a goalless first-half with both sides creating chances but missing by the narrowest of margins.

Comets’ keeper Thomas Anthony also had to make some fine saves and the talk at half-time was not to panic and relax.

And the Hatfield side started to create more and better chances after the break.

It didn’t take long for Josh Hart to open the scoring and a second soon followed when Rhys Redwood-Aiken converted a penalty, awarded after Joseph Walker was brought down.

And although Paringdon continued to press, man of the match Travis Clarke was immense at the back and the Comets hung on to lift the trophy.
