Welwyn Garden City Ladies’ U15s continued their good start to the season with a fourth win in five seeing off Herts Girls 1-0.

Played at Sherrardswood School, it was a tight battle throughout but the only goal of the game came mid-way through the first half.

Welwyn were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box which was floated to the far post by Emma Judd.

And when the ball was spilled by the keeper, Katie Deeprose made no mistake.

There was an impressive debut for Katherine Pattman alongside Ruby Buck and Lauren Davey at the back and the sure hands of Holly Bates kept the Herts Girls out.

Isobel Swallow, Lilly Bonner, Sophie Griffin and Libby Oyetunde didn’t put a foot wrong in midfield and Lulu Wood playing a great supporting role up front with substitutes Bridie Turnbull and Charlotte Conium keeping up the good work.
