MIDFIELDER Ashley Daniels scooped the Codicote player of the year trophy at the club's end of season presentation evening in Norwich.

The village outfit celebrated the conclusion of the term by having a weekend away in Norfolk, funded by players' fines.

Throughout the season club captain Tony Wells ran the dressing-room fine committee and collected more than £600.

Manager Dan Kennoy said: "The fine committee was introduced this season and has been great for dressing-room morale.

"We've come up with some weird and wonderful reasons to fine a player, which all adds to the dressing-room banter.

"We were surprised we've collected so much, but every penny collected was spent on the lads' weekend away."

At the awards do, Mark Anderson was named as player's player of the year and clubman of the year went to Tony Wells.

For the rest of the club, Dean Harrison scooped the Reserve team player of the year and was also the club's top scorer with 19 goals.

Kevin Durrack collected the second string's player's player title, while John Sneddon claimed the young player of the year accolade.
