STRIKER Russell Bull has left Codicote to sign for Southern League Premier side Hitchin Town.

Bull turned out just eight times for the villagers last season scoring three times, after joining from Buntingford Town.

The forward did enough to impress Codicote boss Dan Kennoy, who is also involved with Hitchin Town's Reserve side.

Kennoy said: "I signed Russell last season and he did extremely well for us.

"As a reward I involved him with Hitchin's pre-season schedule and he's stepped up to the mark."

In friendly games for the Canaries Bull has netted against the likes of League Two's Luton Town and Blue Square Conference outfit Stevenage Borough.

Bull could feature when Hitchin begin their league campaign on Saturday against Swindon Supermarine.

Kennoy added: "He's managed to hit the back of the net in front of 900 people against Luton Town and also scored a great header against Stevenage Borough.

"He's deserved his chance at Hitchin and he's looking forward to a tough but educational season ahead with Hitchin Town.
