Codicote scored two goals in the final ten minutes to beat Hertfordshire rivals Hatfield Town 4-3 in the SSML Challenge Trophy second round.

In a topsy-turvy battle played at Gosling Stadium , home to both Codicote and Hatfield, the lead switched hands twice before Joel Mason scored an 89th-minute winner to send the Cod through.

Danny Payne opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute but Hatfield eqaulised 11 minutes before the break through Steven Harper.

Aaron Lewis put Town in front three minutes after half time but in the pattern of the game, Codicote grabbed an equaliser via Ricky Case.

Lewis thought he might have wrapped it up 20 minutes from the end but Codicote had other ideas as Leeroy Williams and then Mason stole the win for them in the dying seconds.
